Named Andalucia 2, the AC substation is the core of the wind farm. Its function is to collect the electricity produced by the wind turbines and transform the voltage from 66 kV to 220 kV. The electricity is then transmitted via the marine cable to the land, minimising power losses along the way.

The substation was completed in March 2017 and delivered just 16 months later, in July 2018.
